With over half of the season under wraps, the Stars sit quite comfortably at 2nd in the Central Division, and only 1 point back of the lead. We were hoping to be a top contender and it looks as if we'll be right up there for at least another couple years.

Clearly our biggest issue is scoring on the wings. We had hoped the addition of Nick Foligno this season would solve it, but has not managed to make the impression we were hoping for - 13PTS in 26GP with Dallas. The addition of Rantanen and DeAngelo secured some youth that was lacking pretty badly. We're hoping Rantanen can follow in Landeskog's footsteps and become the top six two-way winger we acquired him for. With an average age of 25.4, this team should be considered elite for the next 3-5 years. The only issue I can see myself getting into is trouble with the cap, but I've managed to sort that out the last two years pretty well by bringing in salary bargains like Kyle Turris, Cam Fowler, Kris Russell, and Mark Stuart.
