Sadly Jon Rosen is sick this week, however, we have reporting to you from the Coaches Corner... Don Cherry!!
Hows it going guys? Hopefully my suit isnt too flashy and youre still able to read this...hahaha. ANYWAYS!! Now this Jason guy with a french last name i cant pronouce, hes one hell of a GM ill tell ya that much. I looked over his last deals and he sure knows what hes doing.
But enough about the deals you already know about, let me tell ya what hes been up to since Jon last reported to you guys.
In a deal with the Penguins, he traded away 3 canadian boys in the likes of Milan Lucic, Emile Poirier, and Patrick Sieloff. But what did he get in return? A Swede... Loui Eriksson! Not a bad player at all, good scoring hands, sees the Ice really well and has good passing skills. Next, an American kid by the name of Nick Shore. A center who will spend a bit of time in the minors before jumping pro. But look at this, he also got a GOOD OL' ONTARIO BOY, thats what im talkin about. Brett Ritchie... now i remember watching this kid back when he was playing for the Niagra IceDogs, he can handle that puck better than anyone and find the back of the net as though it was his own backyard. All in all, thats a Grapes stamp of approval on this deal.
Secondly, Jason went for a straight 1 for 1 deal with the Taranta Maple Leafs sending over the aging Curtis Glencross for a little more youth in Justin Fountaine (not to mention he shed 1.55MIL in salary)
Thats all ive got for you guys today but ill leave you with a nice word of advice:
"Keep your stick on the ice, your eyes on the prize, and remember, anybody who says they don't like fighting in the NHL have to be out of their minds."
